I dont recommend doing it...but if you can't afford a resume writer, here are a few free or much cheaper ways to get a good resume.
1. ResumeWiki (http://resumewiki.com): post your resume here and let others comment on it. Love that user generated feedback!
2. emurse (http://emurse.com): the web resume service
3. resume software (http://search.chimby.com/b/q?k=resume+software): not the greatest solution but better than nothing
4. free critiques: many resume writers will offer free critiques (http://www.google.com/search?q=free+resume+critique&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_en___US203) of your existing resume.
