Hi All,

My name is Damon Billian & I am the Community Development Manager here at Simply Hired.

While I doubt that many people that come to this forum will know of me, I have actually done a Community Development role previously during my tenure at PayPal under the name of “PayPalDamon”. I used to frequent many forums helping out PayPal users with problems and/or questions about the service (forums such as slashdot.org, andandtech.com, otwa.com, eBay domestic and international forums, webhostingtalk.com, vbulletin.com, sitepoint.com, etc.).

*** I was also very fortunate to be mentioned in both a book and a magazine over the past few years. Links to the article and information on the book are below:

Some viewpoints that I hold:
1. The collective wisdom of your customers is far greater than the sum of any one individual expert in a company.
2. Everyone in a company must have knowledge of what your customers think of you (positive and negative).
3. It is better to build products and features from the bottom-up. In other words, let your customers tell you what they want.
4. While we do strive to be as perfect as possible, please do realize that even we (the company) make mistakes. I can assure you that I will probably make at least one a day.
5. The internet is a fantastic medium for breaking down the barrier typically present between company and customer.
6. A company should be “human”. In other words, we should talk to our customers much like we would talk to a friend. Don’t be surprised if we (members of the company) joke around on the forums. Life is too hard to be serious all the time.

Please feel free to contact me with any issues you have with the site and/or the forums. I can be contacted at damon@simplyhired.com.

Regards,
Damon Billian
Simply Hired Community Manager

P.S. Please be sure to tell your friends about our wonderful little company.

"Do I have to take my shoes off at the door and can I smoke in the house."

As this is a virtual house, I would have to say: " Mi casa, su casa".

If you were really at my house, I would have to say you would have to smoke outside (nobody smokes inside in California). I am a fan of taking shoes off in a house ...but I generally forget as well.

I understand, I live in out west and we were hit by a bad snow storm last year and we were out of power for 5 days. It was bitter cold. The temps at nite were down to 25 deg. I read that you have been without power for 13 days now. I don't know how i would handle that, but i do know that i would be in a pissy mood too. :)
I hope that you get your power on tomarrow.
