Hi,
The article below has some tips on *what* to do if you get fired. I think the hardest one for most people would be not bad-mouthing your employer (I think it is very similar to what someone would feel going through a relationship breakup. The person that was rejected can often have a hard time staying positive about the person that dumped them).
As has been stated by many others, getting fired is NOT the end of the world.

Getting fire at first is always bad. Your be asking yourself what you did wrong and only if they gave you another chance. But eventually you move on to bigger and better things. Theres worst things than getting fired.

The link Damon posted had some good tips, particularly about giving yourself time to grieve. Losing a job in these days when a person's identity is so caught up in their work is more disconcerting than you may realize. That said, I think it is also important to stap up and "own your firing." Make an inventory of the situation, on paper if necessary, acknowledge any mistakes you made, see what you can do differently next time, and then move on to your next great accomplishment!

I agree Anarinda. I remeber crying in my Cheerios when I lost my first real life job. I'll tell you what though. Great lesson learned. Taught me how to be aware of my enviroment and encouraged me to move on to bigger and better things.

I think getting fire always allows a person to more on to bigger and better things cause you arent force to just be stuck at that job. If this makes sense.

Makes perfect sense. Sometimes I think that is what I told myself to make myself feel better about losing my job. :)

On the last job I was 'laid off' from, I sent the ex-boss a copy of a Dilbert cartoon that was published on the one year anniversary date of my dismissal.
He contacted the state police and claimed it was a threat, sending them to my door. I laughed at them and told them he had his head up his a$$ and they were sissie-boy marionettes for even bothering me. It was a f***ing cartoon published in a daily paper!
Besides, I time delay my revenge and he still has a couple of years to wait.... :D

You have way too many stories. I have a feeling that you aren't telling us all of them;)
