I couldn't sleep late last night for some reason. The reason? I got this crazy thought in my head about where certain Star Wars characters would fit into an organization. Here's what I came up with:

Darth Vader-
CEO (while a tough one because of his badness, it was made on the fact that he is tough and ruthless).

R2 D2- Engineering and coding (smart & quirky)

C3P0- Accounting (no reason for this choice)

Han Solo-Sales (everyone loves this guy...a perfect salesperson)

Jar Jar Binks- Mailroom (I hate that guy; very similar to Milton in 'Office Space')

Obi-Wan - Public Relations (wise)

Yoda- Marketing (sees the whole picture)

Any thoughts? Characters you could see in specific roles?

Just a fun thread...I will have to put some more of my crazy ideas in writing later.

Would like to contribute, but have never watched Star Wars. Yes, I am serious. :)

You haven't watched any of the Star Wars movies? That is quite shocking!

Why, how many are there?

A total of six movies in all. I believe the "first" one was in 1977...

My favorites:
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. The Phantom Menace (not because of Jar Jar!)
4. The original Star Wars (note: this was the one that started it all; only down on my ranking of movies because it seems dated now)
5. Return of the Jedi (ewoks! ughhh...I believe someone started a web site about the destruction of the ewoks).
6. Attack of the Clones

While I like the originals a great deal, I do like the newer ones largely because of the special effects.

I have Darth Vader on my keychain:)

Geez. I didn't realize there were so many. Whatever one just came out was the last one right?

Correct...the most recent one is the last one. The order of the movies can be a little confusing...

(original series would be episodes 4-6)
Star Wars (original)
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

("new" series would be 1-3)
Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith

1-3 fill the story in for what happened in the first series (if that makes sense).

Makes sense. :) Do you wish they would make more or is there not really a story line for that?

Most people would wish there were more:) There's probably a whole bunch more you could do with Star Wars.

"Princess Leia: VP Operations"

Good choice.

What about Boba Fett? I was thinking he could be the guy that comes in when layoffs happen. After all, he does terminate people:)

Hi George,
The Revenge of the Sith was actually quite good. Some lame dialogue (my daughter laughed at the love dialogue)...but very good overall.

Hi Damon,

R2 D2- Engineering and coding (smart & quirky)

R2D2 was my favorite Star Wars character... maybe 'cause he's smart and quirky, just like me... ;)

C3P0- Accounting (no reason for this choice)

C3PO is perfect for accounting... he was so very "proper" or at least tried to be... :)

Han Solo-Sales (everyone loves this guy...a perfect salesperson)

Han Solo (Harrison Ford) could easily convince me to "buy" whatever he was selling... ;)

Cantina Band as corporate house band. (I got this idea from the former PeopleSoft and their in-house band made of managers and employees named "The Raving Daves." Dave was a reference to founder and first CEO Dave Duffield. I still see people around Pleasanton with Raving Daves T-shirts.)
