Hi,
It looks like some of my board regulars are trying to embarass me again...
http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.jspa?threadID=1000025853&tstart=0&mod=1122354960045
Another thread was going a few weeks ago that my daughter (13) got a kick out of reading. I guess she thought it was funny that her dad got that kind of attention.
My girlfriend also read the thread from a few weeks ago. Her response (joking): "Tell them to keep their hands off of my boyfriend." For the record, my girlfriend is one of the most mellow people I know & doesn't get upset about things like that.
As for me, I guess I will head back to the gym shortly to keep on meeting those expectations;)
While many people may not believe it, I actually haven't posted on the eBay boards since my departure (to minimize confusion). I do miss the more fun aspects of interacting with members of the eBay community because many people have what the Thai people call "jai dii" (good heart). I don't, however, miss the many extremely stressful contacts that I had to deal with:)

Looks like you have a big fan base Damon. Your own legion of followers...hehe.

Back up the truck. A 13-year-old daughter? What did you do, marry at 15?

Not too far off of the mark....19 going on 20. It was a hormone thing, I believe:)

And they've probably put up two of my least favorite pictures of me;)

haha I think you need to supply them with a better one.

I probably could provide them with one I like.I am not going to touch their request for a Speedo

Well, you wouldn't have to twist my arm to take it, but I could do without a speedo picture. :p
Never understood how guys found those comfortable.

It is actually one way to spot American men at the beach when overseas....not many American men wear speedos.

I wonder why the difference in style. Maybe they know something that the men here don't.

Or maybe I should say the men here know something that they don't. :)

Perhaps it is just a bit of America's Puritan heritage creeping in:) We are quite conservative with many things in a country that has a tremendous amount of freedom.

That's a very good point. Modest on the outside, well doing lord knows what behind closed doors. :)

Well I am a furriner and I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED at the fact that no Americans have taken the opportunity to boast about "needing the extra room".
SHOCKED, I say.

I guess I haven't checked in on the Ebay boards for a few days. I haven't seen this new thread. I'm headed right over there now, though.
Andiland started the first thread, so don't take any carp from her Damon. LOL :D
As for Speedos, well, I've seen very few men who look good in them. The kids on the swim team wear jammers these days--long, tight fitting suits that end right above the knee. I noticed in the last Olympics that many of the swimmers have gone to wearing full bodysuits.

I believe the suits actually help reduce drag on the body while swimming. I guess that's what happens when you...ummm...smash body parts into the body.

Maybe if they wear a full bodysuit, they don't have to shave off all their body hair?
As for this: Not too far off of the mark....19 going on 20. It was a hormone thing, I believe
ACK! Don't say that! I have a 14 year old son. I'm NOT ready to be a Grandma.

"Maybe if they wear a full bodysuit, they don't have to shave off all their body hair?"
Possibly. I don't think it would make much of a difference if someone were Chewbacca, however

I can't see Chewie giving Ian Thorpe much of a run for his money!
simplydamon

C'mon...it is Chewbacca:) Darth Vader might have a harder time in the water because of all of the electronics. Chewie would probably smell like a wool sweater after the swim event...ick.

I'd rather see Han Solo in a Speedo though. :D :D :D

Maybe 30 years ago:) I guess I could do ok with either Princess in just about anything:)

That's why I specified "Han Solo" and not "Harrison Ford". Though I think HF is hot, I think his Speedo-wearing days are over. :(

I would never give Damon a hard time. My DH was a baby of 21 when we got married.
If you're sending pictures, Damon, you know the address. Yes, I'll post it! :p

Believe me, the last thing anyone should do is follow me:)
When it comes to following you, another online auction source made it inevitable.
I was looking at Ina Steiner's daily accounts of the eBay Live 2005 in her Auction Bytes newsletter. Within her day-by-day coverage, she headlined that "PayPal Damon Resurfaces at Simply Hired Job-Search Engine." I was always curious when and where you'd reappear. True to spirit of assisting the stranded, I'm glad to see you in this role, a fantastic way of helping those who feel they're the only ones to ever go through this.

"I was always curious when and where you'd reappear."
Isn't there some saying about bad cream always boiling back to the top? Don't remember the saying exactly....
I had to return to work at some point. I just wanted to make sure that I joined a company/industry that I felt comfortable with. While I did gain a lot of expertise with ecommerce, I honestly felt (after much reflection) that I would rather learn something new. The main challenge for me was (and has been) trying to figure out how "community" could work with Simply Hired. While I think I've done a good job, there is still a heck of a lot for me to learn here.
I appreciate your thoughtful, well-composed posts a great deal. I was worried because I hadn't seen you on the forums in a bit - so I am glad that you came back:)
