I wanted to type this article for you guys, but it ended up being eight pages. I did however find a link that gives a very quick overview of the article.

Who identifies with this? I know I do and so do many of the people in my office. We took this article as a cue to start slowing down and doing things like having lunches together instead of at our desks.

Interesting I can identify to most of these.

I think a lot of us can based on the level of work needing to get done and the exclusive drinking of coffee. :)

Just tap me with a coffee IV and I would be set for life.

Good thing I am not a sugar addict or they might have to peel me off the ceiling by the end of the day. :)

"4) Don't let email rule your day. I pick 3 times to read email. Then I focus on other projects. When I meet I turn lower my laptop's screen to give full attention to the person. "
My job, for better or worse, does almost entirely depend on email & or forums. My OCD definitely kicks in with this.
"6) Make sure there's plenty of laughing in the office. Part of my job is to make sure everyone's laughing. That means they're relaxed, enjoying their day, motivated, handling stress well and they're communicating that to each other and our customers. "
TOTALLY AGREE (sorry for the caps). Work is hard enough - work should be fun, rewarding, AND challenging.
***I recently had the misfortune of spilling drinks all over myself at a recent company meeting (non alcoholic drinks). One woman, luckily, was nice enough to help me out (distributing what was left of the drinks) after I dumped a pink looking substance all over my shorts (these things always happen to me at meetings). In hindsight, however, it was pretty funny. It is one reason that I try to avoid public appearances...I do much less damage if I am out of the office.
*** I also unplugged a computer during the middle of a meeting after I first started. All of the people in the meeting laughed because they thought that was my cue that the meeting was going on too long. I swear it was an accident.
***Gautam, our CEO, has a great sense of humor & is very sharp. He's made me laugh in many meetings.
