Recruiting.com has this piece on networking (http://www.recruiting.com/recruiting/2005/11/networking_netw.html) that is interesting.
The important point (to me) in the article:
"As a recruiter the only thing that impresses me is someone who is a dead on fit for the position that I am recruiting for. Everything else is just background noise. "
Note from Damon: Make sure that the person you refer to the company is QUALIFIED for the position that is open. Don't refer someone in simply because you went to school with their kids. You should also remember that the person you refer in is a reflection on you as well.
