I saw it with my daughter today & we both enjoyed the movie a great deal. Weird, visually stunning, and a uplifting story. Believe it or not, I've never seen the original!
I've enjoyed nearly all of Tim Burton's movies because they are so strange in so many ways. At the end, however, he always seems to pull off some sort of positive message in the movies.

You should rent the original. A lot of people are saying that the can't decide which one they like more. We can't wait to see it.

I just caught the original again yesterday and I have been a huge fan of Willy Wonka candy all my life:)
Had to say that!!
When I was a kid they had a contest going on with candy wrappers where you would win something if you had a wrapper with the winning phrase or something inside -escapes me today. It was associated with Willy Wonka and the Choc. Factory. Gene Wilder was perfect.
As a kid it was all about candy for me. I dreamt of candy. I saved every penny I had for the five and dime. That movie coming out was like an affirmation that it was alright to dream.
I will wait to rent the new movie, and today I am going to purchase the older version. Wally World-$7.00 in case anyone else wants one. :o

The original one is a classic. The Umpa Lumpa.

The original is a classic. I generally don't like remakes, but I've heard this one is pretty good. I'll probably take the kids to see it at some point.
I have a lot of favorite movies, but one of my all time favorite classics is "It's a Wonderful Life".

I get to see "It's a Wonderful Life" once a year around Christmas on NBC. "Everytime a bell rings an angel get's its wing." Classic.
