I think this article on networking and social networking sites (http://www.careerjournal.com/jobhunting/networking/20040923-borzo.html) is interesting. I really do think people do underestimate the value of keeping in contact with old colleagues. As mentioned in previous posts, I largely found this job because of social networks:)
