Being an IPOD fanatic with over 5000 songs on my 60G and 30G models, I was wondering what music people have recently put on their IPOD?
***Three albums I really, really enjoy...
Kem-Kemistry ("Say" is probably my favorite track on the album).
Michael Buble - It's Time (absolutely fantastic to see him in concert).
John Legend - Get Lifted
***If you like weird, funny humor that requires a little thinking...
Mitch Hedberg- Mitch All Together (recently passed away). Very funny stuff if you like to think a little about what he is trying to say.
***My guilty pleasures....
Ciara- Goodies
Trick Daddy-Thug Matrimony Married to the Streets ("Sugar" has to be one of the catchiest songs I've heard in some time).
***Classics...
Any Led Zeppelin Album
***Jazz...
Chris Botti
***Metal
System of a Down-Mesmerize
Any other recommendations from the community?

No iPod here. I'm still listening to music the old fashion way, mp3 on my computer or music stream online... :D

Hi George,
I was the same way until I got an IPOD. I used to carry around a ton of cd's in my car...now I just carry around my IPOD.

Michael Buble...a man after my own heart. I have John in my laptop right now. LOL
MP3 though:
3 Doors Down
Eric Clapton
James Taylor
Zepplin
Kid Rock-not a huge fan, but do like a couple songs
Elvis Costello
No Doubt
John Mayer
Sinatra
Fleetwood Mac
Rob Thomas
I think the list could go on and on. MP3's actually make the gym fun. LOL I actually have afew songs that, frankly, I would just be to embarrased to admit I listen to. :) :)

Like Michael Bolton?
My other guilty pleasure is 80's "hair bands".

LOL. No, can't say I am partial to Michael Bolton.
Hey, you can never go wrong with a little Warrant. :) I actually have Patience-GNR to. LOL
simplydamon

I also have GNR on my IPOD.
Some other hair bands:
1. Dokken (guitar player is awesome).
2. Van Halen (not really a hair band per se).
3. Poison.
I do turn down the radio when I am stopped at a traffic light because I don't want people to hear the stuff I am listening to

If someone saw me right now they would think I was crazy. I am laughing like a fool.
I do the exact same thing. I will turn my music down at lights or when I pull into a parking lot for the same reason.
Poision was an awsome band. Have you ever seen Velvet Revolver? Some friends of mine went and saw them a couple weeks ago at a local club and said they were pretty good.
Van Halen might be considered more of a mullet band. :D

I have a Sony MD. I like it because I can tailor the MD diskette for my mood. I've got one full of Motown (yo, it's what comes of growing up in Philadelphia), 80's music, punk rock, classic rock, jazz, classical etc.
I've got an entire MD (3.5 hours worth) of U2. I love that one. Just Bono and me pounding the pavements in quest of that perfect runner's high. (well, I have to share him with Larry, Adam and The Edge, but a girl can dream, can't she?)

I like just about any kind of music. But I do find myself listening to stuff wouldn't normally choose to listen to if it's during a workout.

My boss' wife, Saya, also has a new album out (or soon to be out)...
Dave, my boss, was nice enough to arrange having me hang out with Saya's mom (a wonderful lady) when I went to Japan earlier this year. Saya has also toured with the Neville Brothers....very nice piano work.

I will tell Saya you said that:) I just saw her today because Dave was showing off his awesome little kid at PayPal today:)
As for me, I am stuck on the "You and I" remake by Michael Buble:) I just spoke to my gf (via email) just a bit ago. I wish I had a voice like that guy...

That's not my reason for liking the music. I actually saw him with Chris Isaak about two years ago (first time I heard Michael Buble). He was actually pretty darn funny as well!

Good choice on the music. My personal favorite would be Led Zep ( there are very few bands, save perhaps The Beatles, that have so many albums where there is no filler).

You don't find though that you have purchased a CD for a couple songs and end up liking the entire CD?
simplydamon

I find that there are too few albums these days that don't have a fair amount of filler (personal opinion, of course).

I could see that. I usually average 2-3 songs a CD that I hit the forward button on and no matter how many times I listen to the CD the songs just never appeal to me.

Momas and Poppas - Creque Alley
John Mellencamp - Scarecrow
Three Dog Night - Joy to the World

I do the same thing. I drive people in my car crazy by changing the type of music all the time.

Michael Buble - It's Time (absolutely fantastic to see him in concert).
John Legend - Get Lifted[edit]
I think I know that song "Say", if that is the one I'm thinking of, I love it, lol.
I don't have the iPod accessory for my car, yet...have to agree with you, Damon, the iPod makes the gym a lot more fun. Sometimes I plan on going for 45 mins, but stay a lot longer 'cause I just have to listen to this or that song, lol.
Songs that I listen to almost daily:
Tori Amos - "Hey Jupiter" & some of her covers of other musicians - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" , Elton John's "Tiny Dancer", & "Daniel"
NIN: "Closer" , I've got probably 6 covers of this -fave being Maroon 5
Maroon 5: "Harder to Breathe", "This Love", "Sweetest Goodbye"
No Doubt: "Simple Kind of Life" "Just a Girl"
Mary J Blige : "Family Affair"
Lenny Kravitz: "Lady"
Snow Patrol: "Chocolate" ..and a few others..
Sheryl Crow: "The 1st cut is the deepest",(Rod Stewart cover),"You're My favorite Mistake"
Songs that just make me feel good :
Johnny Nash "I can see clearly now", also have Bob Marley's version - better!
The Killers "Mr Brightside"
Paul Oakenfold "Starry Eyed Surprise" :)
Aww, the guilty pleasures:
Any Mashups--hmm 50cent vs Bee Gees
Sumblime: "Scarlet Begonias", (Grateful Dead cover)
KingSpade - "This That Beat" (Damon you might wanna get this one, listen to it LOUD in your car...heh)
Lots of Techno & House Music
Mike Jones
Oldies but goooooooodies:
Peter Gabriel: "Games Without Frontiers", "Shock the Monkey" "Solsbury Hill"
Genesis: "Carpet Crawlers", "The Lamb lies down on Broadway"
The Who "Baba O'Reilly", "Love Reign O'er Me" etc..etc.
Phil Collins: "I don't Care Anymore" "In the Air Tonight"
Dusty Springfield: "Son of A Preacher Man"
Beatles : "Any of their songs"
Pink Floyd: "Hey You", "Comfortably Numb" , etc.

I was in the hospital last week for 4 days (nasty sinus infection that went horribly bad...) and without my PDA I'd have gone nuts. So there I was, reading a book (Harry Turtledove, "Return Engagement") and listening to my music with the same device. I was in a definate 70's mood this week...
California Dreaming -Mommas and Poppas
Band on the Run - Wings
Someday Never Comes - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Boogie on Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder
Come Monday - Jimmy Buffett
I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song - Jim Croce
Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me) - Reunion
Eres Tu - Mocedades

I actually have all of those (save Great White). I actually met Metallica about two years ago at a private show in SF (my friend used to work for them).
I am an old metal head. I recently downloaded some songs from Itunes from a band called Fates Warning:)
New additions from Itunes:
Keith Urban-AOL sessions
Fates Warning-songs from "No Exit" and Perfect Symmetry
Alicia Keys-Unplugged
Stephen Lynch-The Craig Machine
UNKLE-These Days
My one complaint about Itunes would be that they don't have a great selection of albums from Global Underground.
